GTM Update - Let's Show the School Board Our Support!

TL;DR: The School Board meets Tuesday. If you haven't emailed LCSB@lcps.org in support of LVE’s land gift, please do it today. Templates at unitedloudoun.org.
Good morning everyone - quick but important update.
The School Board meets tomorrow, Tuesday. This is an active and ongoing discussion among Board members and staff, and we have had productive and encouraging conversations over recent days.
We have appreciated the School Board's support throughout this process - they have been resolute that this infrastructure does not belong on school grounds or in this community. We are grateful for the engagement we have received from Board members, and we tremendously appreciate the town hall our representative Amy Riccardi hosted.
The School Board has shown real leadership on this issue, and this community sees it and appreciates it.
Now we need to show them they have our support.
In case you missed the email on Saturday - our community has offered to gift approximately 12.74 acres of our green space along Broad Run to Loudoun County Public Schools.
This is the wooded corridor that connects our neighborhood to Rosa Lee Carter Elementary and Rock Ridge High School - the trails our kids walk and bike to school, where sports teams train, and where families spend their evenings.
This land has always functioned as one shared space between our community and the schools. The donation formalizes what has always been true and ensures this land is permanently protected. Under the proposed terms, LVE retains maintenance responsibility and the land can only be used for educational, recreational, and open-space purposes. The School Board takes title without taking on additional burden.
Things stay as they always have been, with the added assurance that this land is protected.
Our schools have built amazing facilities. And just as the green space this community has preserved for 25 years should not be wiped out to power data centers, school grounds should not be repurposed to run commercial transmission infrastructure simply because the land is available.
That was never the intent. That is not what any of us in Loudoun County thought we were buying into. And it is not right.
We are asking every resident who can to send a short email to the School Board at LCSB@lcps.org in support of accepting this donation. If you already have, thank you - and please forward this to a neighbor, a friend, or anyone in the area who cares about this issue.
You do not need to live in Loudoun Valley Estates to write. This land donation benefits the entire community. When the Board sees the volume of support, it matters.
We have message templates at unitedloudoun.org to make it easy.
Pick one, personalize it, and hit send. It takes a minute.
Please send your emails today if you can. Every email counts.
More to come.
